YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH TRAINING
 
WSHS is hosting a Youth Mental Health Training through Solomon's Song Trainings at WSHS on Thursday, Oct. 20th from 9:00-2:00, the topics about the trainings are below for students between the ages of 12-18. 
 
Our Youth MOVE training is a five hour training for youth ages 12-18 to educate young people about mental health 101, self care, resources, and how to be a friend for someone with a mental health disorder.

Training topics:
Mental health 101 presentation
Activities involving mental health education
Self care and your mental health presentation
Activities involving awareness of mental health and advocacy
What a difference a friend makes presentation
Group discussions on what mental health means to us and what it means to have an ally/friend support you
About Youth M.O.V.E  and action plan on how to start a peer support/ advocacy group at their school or in their communities
Create an understanding of mental health and how we all have it, just like physical health
Learn how to create comfortable environments around the topic of mental health for your friends/families
Feel in control of your own mental health
Feel like you have an understanding of what to do/ where to go if you or a friend has a mental health concern
